Sie geh\u00f6rt zu den stark gef\u00e4hrdeten Fledermausarten und lebt in nur wenigen Gebieten in Deutschland und Westeuropa. Das lange und seidige Fell wirkt schwarz-braun. Diese Fledermausart bevorzugt kleine Insekten und ist auf naturnahe W\u00e4lder mit viel Totholz angewiesen. Am besten h\u00f6rt man diese Art bei Frequenzen um die 35 kHz<\/strong>. Sie ruft mit kurzen, kr\u00e4ftigen Lauten. Bei der Jagd sendet die Mopsfledermaus zwei verschiedene Ortungslaute aus Mund und Nase. Das Signal aus der Nase ist nach oben gerichtet und dient der Fledermaus zum Auffinden von Insekten. Das nach unten gerichtete Signal aus dem Mund hilft ihr, sich in ihrer Umgebung zu orientieren.<\/p>\n
